COMEDY IMPROV - HUMOR FOR HEALTH AND SELF DISCOVERY March 22rd 7pm - 9pm Tuition- $40 In this uproariously fun workshop, we soothe our spirit and reenergize ourselves with laughter. You'll be amazed that something so fun can be so good for you. Guided by comedy improv pro Jacqueline Kabat, we learn the basic principles of comedy improvisation to tap into deeper dimensions and learn how to use them to develop our personal potential in everyday life. Working together as a group to eliminate any individual fear, we participate and cheer for each other in a safe environment - and have fun doing it. Comedy improv exercises result in a significant amount of self discovery and insight. Participants end up becoming incredibly empowered because they are given the unique opportunity to feel the positive shifts through nurturing creativity and collaboration. When we're having fun, we're relaxed. When we're relaxed, we're listening and communicating, and that's when we're able to overcome insecurities and express our full capabilities. By applying the central improv lesson of being completely present and open to whatever happens, we increase our confidence, improve our relationship skills, and learn to creatively deal with ambiguous and constantly changing circumstances. As we continue to practice the tenets of comedy improv upon our return home, we discover we can tap into the best within ourselves in any given situation with the healing power of laughter. ABOUT JACQUELINE KABAT: Manhattan based comedian, Jacqueline Kabat, has been involved in all aspects of stand-up comedy, improvisation and sketch writing since 1997. She has studied written for and performed with Second City's Ann Bowen and with Saturday Night Live's Amy Poehler while with the Upright Citizens Brigades. She had the opportunity to work with Sex in the City's Mario Cantone while warming up studio audiences at ABC Studios. Jacqueline currently can be seen MC'ing shows and doing stand-up comedy at popular New York clubs like Gotham Comedy Club, Comix and Caroline's on Broadway. She performed with New York-based improv troupe, Rash Behaviour, whose sketches have won awards in film festivals and can be seen on the Independent Film Channel. Jacqueline has also written for Time Out New York and was featured in Body and Soul Magazine's October 2007 issue in an article about the healing power of comedy improvisation. She teaches improv at theaters in Manhattan, Fortune 500 corporations, medical centers and high-end destinations spas around the world. She has MC'd corporate events and has done comedy improv team building workshops with companies such as Bank of America, eBay, Procter & Gamble, Macy's Southwest Airlines and McGraw Hill. Earth Balance and Personal Healing Workshop Thursday March 28 7:00PM-10:30PM Fee: $36 The intent of this workshop is to begin to (and/or continue to) balance your energies and to also break away from the logical mode of thinking and use intuitive type thought processes. The original workshop design was to just do a meditation workshop - but figured best to set a foundation with the topics of interest and exercises prior to the final meditation. The following topics are facilitated: * Healing, Energy, Arrow of time, Time/Space, Past/Present/Future (slide show) * Listen to music/tones to balance some Chakras * StarGate and Alchemy Introduction and Meditation * Energy Flow - Very Easy Exercise * Dimensions and Dimensions of Consciousness * Light and light * Keys of Enoch - What are keys? (also discussion of a related key) * Consciousness Transport / Vortex * Information encoding and (spiritual) communication protocols * Visualization and Visualization Exercise * Hands on third eye technique described and Practice * Earth Balance and Personal Healing Meditation Introduction and Participation Note: Topics may slightly change at facilitators' discretion. Many-Many audio/visual slides to help improve the experience. The Earth Balance & Personal Healing Meditation was created by Bruce after dreaming of its' use two consecutive nights over a year ago. This meditation uses visualization and pyramid vortex energies while the participant uses their consciousness to complete the pyramid capstone. The participants' consciousness along with the consciousness of mother earth is combined in a very interesting way to promote healing for the participant as well as our starship called 'EARTH'. Notes: Wear comfortable clothes & bring anything to make the experience more enjoyable. It is suggested to lie on the floor during the Earth Balance Meditation. Bring light blocking eye covering if you have it. Earth Balance CD available for purchase during the workshop Bruce - Is a student of Advanced Spiritual knowledge and has interests in Quantum Information (QI) and consciousness. He holds a few engineering degrees and also has a Ph.D. in the field of Information Systems (IS). His doctoral dissertation is titled: A Quantum Computing Paradigm for Information Exchange and Information Processing. Bruce has been an educator and course developer since 1982. Since we will be out in Nature there are some things you will need: -A fold up camping chair so that you have a comfortable place to sit. -Bug repellant (trust me on this you'll need it) -A light lunch and plenty of water. -Proper footwear, Teva's, Keen's, or Sneakers as we will be trail walking and you will need to navigate paths littered with rocks, tree roots, and inclines. -An offering of berries for the Faires. As there are blueberry bushes in the area they would like Strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Pre-registration deadline is May 3rd. *CRYSTALS 101* May 25th 10-3 Cost $75 includes manual and 3 crystals to take with you Mankind has had a long tradition of working with crystals. Many ancient cultures believed that certain stones should be worn for protection, while others were said to bring good luck. Come explore the vast kingdom of crystals and their mysteries. Learn how to work with crystals in your everyday life. This class will introduce to you the basics of healing with crystals, crystal grids, pendulum work, and much more.
