Welcome to Living Light News!	* Monthly Events * ~ Reiki Clinic / Reiki Share Come experience the healing art of Reiki. This hands-on practice is used to reduce stress, assist in relaxation, and facilitate overall health. This complimentary practice is found to be effective in relieving side effects and promoting recovery. Come to the Reiki Clinic and receive a 30-minute blissful Reiki session. Come experience the gift of IET firsthand. This healing system focuses on clearing suppressed emotions stored in the cellular memory. * SHAMANISM with Julianne Santini Julianne Santini is a graduate of the Foundation of Shamanic Studies Advanced Healing Program and Sandra Ingerman's Shamanic Teacher Training. She is a member of the Foundation of Shamanic Studies and a founding member of the Society for Shamanic Practitioners. Entering the Circle~Medicine Wheels & Mandalas 4/4 (Sat), 9am-5pm, $165 The purpose of this class is to learn how to use "sacred circles" in your life as a path of self-awareness. It is said that mandalas arise out of the compelling need to know our own inner reality, to align this knowing with our own body's wisdom, and to awaken in ourselves a sense of being in harmony with the universe. Would you like to learn how to use mandalas, medicine wheels, and even labyrinths for meditation, insight, and healing? Learn how to use them in new meditative rituals as well as traditional healing techniques from a variety of cultures. Through shamanic journeying, you will learn what a unique gift these "sacred circles" are for yourself and others. Making a circle always brings order to things. Basic Shamanic Journeying 5/30-5/31 (Sat & Sun), 9am-5pm, $165 Anthropologists have identified shamanic practices in ancient cultures that date back 40,000 years. Today they exist in indigenous cultures throughout the world and are becoming more prevalent in today's modern cultures. The practice of shamanism is based on first hand experience, not religious belief. One need not alter one's beliefs to use shamanism. The core shamanic belief is that all illness is caused by spiritual disharmony. The practitioner uses a practiced focus to enter into an altered state of consciousness. This is often called the shamanic journey. The shamanic journey crosses the dimensional barrier between time and space. During this journey, the practitioner communicates with spirit helpers and then brings back guidance or healing to assist an individual or community. Come join the circle and learn how to meet and work with your power animals and spirit helpers. Learn about core shamanism, the original role of the shaman in indigenous societies, and the keys to successful journeying in a modern culture. (This class is now offered in a weekend format. Extraction Workshop 7/18-7/19 (Sat. & Sun), 9am-5pm, $165 A core shamanic belief is that all illness is caused by spiritual disharmony. One powerful healing technique used in indigenous communities is Extraction. This method removes patterns of energy that are part of illness. In this two-day workshop, you will learn various extraction techniques from around the world, discover how to remove unneeded patterns of energy, and learn how to direct them to a place where they will be harmless. Come experience for yourself how removing the spiritual component of illness can open the pathway of healing both physical and emotional symptoms! Pre-registration necessary. She also spent 5 years as a US Navy Flight Surgeon which allowed her to travel around the world and gain exposure to many different healing modalities. Dr. Ross completed her medical acupuncture training through the Helms Medical Institute at UCLA. She currently works as an anesthesiologist at CMC Hospital.
