Welcome to Living Light News!	* Monthly Events * ~ Meditation Class This monthly session is a specially designed healing meditation to balance your energy system and release the hidden nature of physical and psychological issues. You will release negative emotions and learn to align to a resilient point. Each time you come to the group, you will transform your past, energize your life and bless your future. Experienced meditators as well as beginners welcome. Date: First Thursday of each month (Note: January class moved to Jan. 8th due to New Year's.) Time: 7-8:30pm Fee: $20 Registration: Call Julianne Santini at 603-494-5571 Presenter: John Mercede, a professional in energy healing and energy psychology ~ Shamanic Journeying Circle* This circle was formed to study core shamanism, the original role of the shaman in indigenous societies, how to meet and work with power animals and other spirit helpers, and the keys to successful journeying in a modern culture. This is a closed circle that began in Feb. and meets the third Thursday of each month. If you are interested in the topic of shamanism and the concept of journeying and would like to be a part of a new circle, please check out the Basic Shamanic Journeying Class under Sponsored Events (taught in the format per the Foundation of Shamanic Studies). Facilitator: Julianne Santini, graduate of the Foundation of Shamanic Studies Advanced Healing Program, graduate of Sandra Ingerman's Shamanic Teacher Training, member of the Foundation of Shamanic Studies and a founding member of the Society for Shamanic Practitioners. ~ Angels on Assignment This is an advanced healing group open to healing practitioners and those experienced in meditation and/or shamanic journeying that are called to do healing service on behalf of the community. Recognize yourself as an "Angel on Assignment" and work with a community to anchor advanced healing frequencies of light. Also, strengthen your energy body and soul connection with a series of meditation processes focusing on the Keys and Codes of Consciousness. Second Friday of each month (Last sessions to be held this Jan. & Feb.) Time: 7-9pm Fee: $20. Private classes available. ~ Reiki/IET Clinic* Come experience the healing art of Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy. These hands-on practices are used to reduce stress, assist in relaxation, and facilitate overall health. They are complimentary practices that are found to be effective in relieving side effects and promoting recovery. Come to the Public Wellness Clinic and receive a 30 minute blissful Reiki or IET session. Practitioner Share is also available for students and certified practitioners to hone skills and enjoy a treatment. - Sitting In The Dark
It is often hard to set aside time to sit in the dark and quiet amidst the busyness of the holidays, but this year the spirits of nature plunged New England into darkness. December's ice storm left 800,000 families without power, and everyone has their own story to tell. For me the early evenings after the ice storm were a time of silence and reflection. Whether from the utter darkness or lying in my old familiar sleeping bag, the experience brought me back to memories of a 4-day fast on Native land in Canada. It was a time for me personally to turn inward. I had to honor the dark before calling in the light. During the current power outage, I couldn't help but feel like I was on a vision quest (untraditional at best) with my whole family, or more like all of New England. My family was very lucky and only experienced minor inconveniences, loss of food, small leaks, and tree limbs down in the yard. Many have had to deal with major damages to their home and property while others in more remote areas were without power for weeks at a time. Was there divine timing to the ice storm? It happened just prior to the winter solstice, a unique time when the nights are the longest of the year. It is a time when the dark triumphs, but only briefly. Then, the dark wanes, and the sun waxes in power. From the darkness, the light is reborn. What if you are still feeling sadness over losses from your recent experience? Know that as winter encroaches, it's a natural time for letting go and saying good-bye. Release your resentments and regrets into the darkness and know that they will be transformed. It is very powerful to write them down in your journal or on slips of paper to be burned in a fire. Use this holiday time and upcoming winter vacations to make amends and reconnect with family and friends. Rely on their support and the ever-increasing light. From the dark womb of the night, the light is born. Although traditions and rituals vary, we can all bring light into the lives of those around us… Intend - When you light candles, start a fire in the fireplace or simply turn on a lamp in your home or office, do so with the intention of bringing light into the world. What would happen if you intended the hearts & minds of family, friends, and clients to be illumined on a daily basis? Create - Make a conscious effort to increase the amount of light that you create. Take notice of how you speak to your family members and associates. Are you creating light with your words and through your actions on a daily basis? Reflect** - Hold your mind firmly in the light. Monitor your thoughts throughout the day. Are your seed thoughts light-filled? Remember that where you hold your mind, your body will surely follow. May you continue to find new ways to celebrate and share the light throughout the year. Today they exist in indigenous cultures throughout the world and are becoming more prevalent in today's modern cultures. The practice of shamanism is based on first hand experience, not religious belief. One need not alter one's beliefs to use shamanism. The core shamanic belief is that all illness is caused by spiritual disharmony. The practitioner uses a practiced focus to enter into an altered state of consciousness. This is often called the shamanic journey. The shamanic journey crosses the dimensional barrier between time and space. During this journey, the practitioner communicates with spirit helpers and then brings back guidance or healing to assist an individual or community. Come join our circle and learn how to meet and work with YOUR power animals and spirit helpers. It is said that mandalas arise out of the compelling need to know our own inner reality, to align this knowing with our own body's wisdom, and to awaken in ourselves a sense of being in harmony with the universe. Would you like to learn how to use mandalas, medicine wheels, and even labyrinths for meditation, insight, and healing? Learn how to use them in new meditative rituals as well as traditional healing techniques from a variety of cultures. Through shamanic journeying, you will learn what a unique gifts these "sacred circles" are for yourself and for others. Making a circle always brings order to things.
